EZGO Serial Number Lookup: Year and Model by Serial

An EZGO serial number lookup works differently from most brands, because E-Z-GO does not publish a chart that turns a serial into a model year. The year comes from the manufacture date code printed on the same labels as the serial number. Use the serial and the date code together, the same pair E-Z-GO's manuals ask for when you order parts.

Can you get the year from an EZGO serial number?

Not reliably from the serial alone. E-Z-GO does not publish a serial-to-year table, and its manuals treat the serial number and the manufacture date code as two separate items. Read the date code from the label, or give both numbers to an E-Z-GO dealer, who can confirm the model and year.

The TXT Fleet owner's guide says that the manufacture date code, serial number and vehicle model are all needed when ordering service parts. The 2024 RXV ELiTE manual asks for the serial number or PIN and the manufacture date. If the serial carried the year on its own, E-Z-GO would not need both.

Unofficial "EZGO year by serial" charts circulate online, and they do not agree with each other. Treat them as a starting guess, not proof. If a seller's listing year comes only from one of those charts, ask for the date code label or a dealer printout.

The cover of each owner's manual also helps narrow things down. The TXT Fleet guide says "starting model year 2014" and the RXV ELiTE manual covers model year 2024 to current. Matching your cart to the right manual tells you the model generation even when a label is unreadable.

Where are the serial labels on a TXT or RXV?

It depends on the model and its age. E-Z-GO says carts bought before 2023 have the serial next to a barcode on the steering column or under the driver's seat. The TXT Fleet manual lists two plates, and the 2024 RXV ELiTE manual lists four labels plus a PIN label.

TXT Fleet. One plate is on the body below the front of the seat on the driver side, with a matching part on the frame weld tube. The other is on the chassis crossmember on the driver side, at the seat-back support. To reach it, raise the seat and lift the flap on the access panel.

RXV ELiTE. The manual lists four serial and date code labels: one on the lower right wall of the dash panel, one on the driver-side frame under the front splash shield and two on the passenger-side frame rail at the rear. A separate PIN label sits on the passenger-side frame under the front splash shield.

Having several labels is useful on a used cart. If the dash label is worn, the frame labels usually are not. If two labels on the same cart show different serials, a part such as the body or the frame came from another cart. Ask the seller about it.

How do you decode an E-Z-GO Liberty or Cushman LSV VIN?

Street-legal E-Z-GO and Cushman models have a 17-character VIN starting with 10R. Textron's 2026 NHTSA filing gives position 4 as the model, position 5 as the battery type and position 11 as the Augusta plant. Positions 12 to 17 are the last six digits of the cart's serial number.

What should you check on a used EZGO?

Match the labels to each other, then match them to the paperwork. Every serial label on the cart should show the same number, the date code should fit the model and, on an LSV, the last six VIN digits should equal the serial. Then search E-Z-GO's recall page.

A short checklist before you pay:

1. Photograph every serial and date code label you can find.
2. Confirm the model generation from the owner's manual cover, such as TXT starting model year 2014 or RXV ELiTE 2024 to current.
3. For an LSV, decode the VIN and compare it with the title.
4. Check E-Z-GO's recall information page and ask the seller whether any recall work was done.
