To help us answer quickly, include:

  • The VIN or chassis number if your question is about a decode. It is 17 characters and printed on the VIN plate, the windscreen corner or your RC.
  • What we showed and what you expected, for example "model year 2023, but the invoice says 2022".
  • The page link if you are writing about one of our guides.

Wrong decode? Report it from the result

Each decoded result has a Report it button. That sends us the VIN, what we showed and your correction together, so it is the quickest way to get a decoding rule fixed. See our privacy policy for what a report includes.

What we can and cannot help with

We can help with:

  • How we read a VIN or chassis number
  • Corrections to a maker's rules or to one of our guides
  • Privacy and data requests, including deleting your account or saved reports
  • Advertising, partnerships and press

We cannot help with:

  • Registration, ownership, insurance, challan or accident records. vindecode.pro is not a government or manufacturer service. For registration details, use the official VAHAN services from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. Our RC check guide shows how.
  • Disputes with a dealer or seller. We can explain what a VIN shows, but we cannot confirm a particular vehicle's history.
